There is something timeless and genuine about a relaxed picnic engagement session, and this beautiful evening at Fish Creek Provincial Park was the perfect mix of romance, laughter, and natural connection.
As a Calgary engagement photographer, I love sessions that feel authentic and personal to each couple. Instead of rushing from one location to another, we kept this engagement session simple and meaningful with a cozy picnic setup surrounded by the natural beauty of Fish Creek Park. The warm evening light, peaceful pathways, and beautiful trees created the perfect backdrop for romantic and candid engagement photos.
Fish Creek Park is one of the best locations for engagement photography in Calgary because it offers so much variety. From open grassy areas and forest trails to riverside scenery and golden sunset light, it is an amazing location for couples looking for natural and relaxed engagement photos close to the city.
These two were incredibly easygoing and adventurous, which made the session feel effortless. We spent the evening exploring the park, enjoying the picnic setup, and capturing genuine moments together. Some of my favourite images came from the quiet in-between moments — laughing together on the blanket, walking hand in hand through the trees, and soaking in the sunset over the park.
I always encourage couples to make their engagement session personal. Bringing a picnic, coffee, wine, flowers, or even your dog can help create a more comfortable and meaningful experience while also making the photos unique to you.
If you are planning an engagement session in Calgary and looking for natural, romantic, and adventurous photos, Fish Creek Park is easily one of my favourite locations to recommend.
